Dad gives child STD during ORAL SEX - May be deported to Jamaica soon
A Jamaican man, who forced his young daughter to perform oral sex on him on three occasions and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease, could be deported from Canada after he finishes his prison term, THE STAR has learnt. According to a report in the Toronto Sun, the 38-year-old who pleaded guilty to sexual interference in April was sentenced earlier this month to 18 months in prison and three years probation. He is now facing an admissibility hearing by the Immigration and Refugee Board.
Vanessa Barrasa, a Canada Border Service Agency spokesperson said once the agency is made aware of "a reportable criminality it is obligated to hold an admissibility hearing," which could result in a removal order.
According to the report, defence lawyer Kurt Wildman sought a six-month term to help his client evade deportation.
However, Madam Justice Frances Kiteley refused Wildman's bid, saying the accused committed a serious breach of trust against his biological daughter with a crime that affected her both physically and psychologically.
Furthermore, she noted that while the accused's immigration status and chance of deportation were factors to consider, his crimes deserved a longer sentence than six months.
"These events have taken my childhood away," the child said.
Allegations are that the accused, a hospitality worker, who moved to Canada in 1986 at the age of 13 forced his daughter to commit three acts of oral sex between September 1, 2007 and August 9, 2008.
It is understood that the incidents happened while the accused and his estranged wife, who is the child's mother lived in separate units on the same Scarborough high-rise building.
Reports are that the child's mother discovered the father's incestuous behaviour in August 2008.
The victim, now 13, told police that the abuse happened while she was in the middle of Grade 4 when she was visiting her father at his apartment. She also said that her father told her not to tell anyone.
